O wow did I love this book！ Cole was so sweet with Eve and truly loved her for who she was。 He was her peace。 I related to Eve so much！ She felt so real。 She was imperfect， and learning to love who she is， imperfections and all。 Cole greatly helps with reinforcing what is so great about her。 What I loved the most was how confident she was when it came to flirting and sexy times。 She could flirt and tease with the best of them！ My only complaint was that it seemed longer than it needed to be BUTT O wow did I love this book！ Cole was so sweet with Eve and truly loved her for who she was。 He was her peace。 I related to Eve so much！ She felt so real。 She was imperfect， and learning to love who she is， imperfections and all。 Cole greatly helps with reinforcing what is so great about her。 What I loved the most was how confident she was when it came to flirting and sexy times。 She could flirt and tease with the best of them！ My only complaint was that it seemed longer than it needed to be BUTTTT because of that we got more of Eve and Cole - sweet times and steamy times。 The mouth on Cole！ Whew！ 。。。more

I wanted to dnf this 10% in but I powered through only to be rewarded with absolutely nothing because it wasn’t even fun to hate read。 The plot was so childish and nonsensical that it made me wonder if this was a teenager’s attempt at writing smut but then there would be dialogue reminiscent of Regina George’s “I’m a cool mom” vibes so it obviously couldn’t have been a teen and I’m just left confused and feeling icky。 A couple ridiculous examples of the stupid af plot- the FMC acts like matching I wanted to dnf this 10% in but I powered through only to be rewarded with absolutely nothing because it wasn’t even fun to hate read。 The plot was so childish and nonsensical that it made me wonder if this was a teenager’s attempt at writing smut but then there would be dialogue reminiscent of Regina George’s “I’m a cool mom” vibes so it obviously couldn’t have been a teen and I’m just left confused and feeling icky。 A couple ridiculous examples of the stupid af plot- the FMC acts like matching on an app with her brother’s best friend is the ultimate dirty secret but she’s like 25？？？ AND WHO CARES？？ it’s not a big deal？？？？？- The weird verbal altercation between FMC and her ex was written like how a teenager thinks adults would fight - They spend like HALF A YEAR just sexting EVEN THOUGH THEY LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN and see each other all the time like in what world would adults do this - Their relationship is supposedly some big secret to keep from her family for a couple reasons including he’s her brother’s best friend but then when the brother finds out he’s mad for like 5 seconds and it’s all chill ？？？？？？- all this and more horribly childish plot lines and yet then there would be weirdly dirty spicy scenes that were （1） not hot and （2） so gross given the non-adult behavior ickkkk 。。。more

Eve was a super fun FMC to read， and I liked the ADHD aspect of her life and how that was embraced and supported by Cole。 I loved how much stability Cole offers to Evie even if it was just listening to her （or driving around while she was asleep in his truck）。There were so many things about this book that I loved， and I would recommend to anyone looking for a small town/sports romance

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 DNF at 55%。 And with it being 400 pages long， I’m pretty proud of myself I stuck it out for 200 pages！Omg， where do I start？ Ok。 So the heroine Eve is the daughter of the hero Cole’s new boss。 （She is also Cole’s bff’s little sister。） Cole comes back into town to accept assistant hockey coach （coaching alongside Eve’s father）。 In what I did read， I could tell that this author was trying to be heavy on the pc， all inclusive， etc。 Which leads us to our heroine。 She has ADHD。 Which is cool， I’m pre DNF at 55%。 And with it being 400 pages long， I’m pretty proud of myself I stuck it out for 200 pages！Omg， where do I start？ Ok。 So the heroine Eve is the daughter of the hero Cole’s new boss。 （She is also Cole’s bff’s little sister。） Cole comes back into town to accept assistant hockey coach （coaching alongside Eve’s father）。 In what I did read， I could tell that this author was trying to be heavy on the pc， all inclusive， etc。 Which leads us to our heroine。 She has ADHD。 Which is cool， I’m pretty sure I， along with many of my friends growing up in the 70s and 80s， have undiagnosed ADHD。 But！ We are reminded of this heroines ADHD at every turn。 Every scene that she is in has her being super hyper， super scatterbrained， impulsive buying， constantly forgetting to bring things with her， etc and it’s always explained to us that it’s because of her ADHD。 She lives in a town that has a snowy winter， and she forgets to bring her coat with her… and doesn’t realize it until ~20 mins or so later？ Because she has ADHD。 How？ I live in the far north next to Santa Claus and I would notice in the first 3 seconds of opening my front door that I don’t have my coat on。 But I digress… On to Eve’s cute hobby/career。 She likes to make jewelry， specifically earrings。 Her favorites to wear are her lollipop earrings and her dinosaur chicken nugget earrings…。 🤔 and this hockey stud hero actually inner dialogues to himself at one point how cute her dinosaur chicken nuggets earrings were。 Um， ok Jan…。Anyway， I felt the author ruined an otherwise nice， happy， easy to root for heroine with making her too quirky to get the ADHD point across to us。On to the main idea of the story。 It was a little different that what I was expecting from the blurb。 It was only one dating app。 that was used。 And it would keep matching them every time one of them opened the app。 That’s it。 So they started to message each other， because they weren’t strangers， they’ve known each other forever。 At one point they are at a dance club， he drags her off away from their friends to a dark hallway and they share their first kiss…。 What a let down！ He kissed her softly。 😒 No built up aggressive passion， no trying to keep his feelings restrained…。From there they get into an agreement of some sorts to have a temporary casual no feelings allowed affair。 It starts of by a hot and heavy phone sex episode。 Well， she texted， he sent audios， then progressed to pics…。 Ok。 But by the 55% mark that’s all they were still doing。 Phone sex， pics of each step they did to themselves， dildos involved， dirty talk that got old real quick…I just didn’t get the whole thing。 During the day， they saw each often， he gave her car rides， etc but they never acted upon their sexual feelings in person。 He would drop her off as ‘just friends’ and then go home to start sending her texts/phone calls to have phone sex…。。 it became repetitive and boring。 I’m sure they must have eventually had real sex after I DNFd， but I lost interest by then。 。。。more

This was a cute read。 It’s focused on Eve who is the coach’s daughter and Cole who is her brothers best friend and the new assistant coach。 It was a nice story but was missing something - I struggled to finish the book。 I enjoyed the characters， Eve especially was refreshing and I liked how patient Cole was and how they navigated the different situations 。

Soooo。。。 I picked this up because it came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors。Now， the storyline and trope（s） were all very attractive， but alas， the character arcs and the characters themselves fell short of my expectations。 And this is why throughout the story， I had that "I've definitely read this story before" sort of feeling。Eve was a relatively sweet FMC。 She'd been in love with her brother's best friend for many years。 But， unfortunately， there wasn't much else to her。Cole wa Soooo。。。 I picked this up because it came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors。Now， the storyline and trope（s） were all very attractive， but alas， the character arcs and the characters themselves fell short of my expectations。 And this is why throughout the story， I had that "I've definitely read this story before" sort of feeling。Eve was a relatively sweet FMC。 She'd been in love with her brother's best friend for many years。 But， unfortunately， there wasn't much else to her。Cole was certainly an attractive MMC。 I especially liked that we got to read his thoughts and his POV， but there wasn't much more to him aside from hiding his not-relationship from his coach， teammates and best friend。Their relationship was not believable at all。 They went from "this is a bad idea" to hot and heavy （albeit just virtually）， almost overnight。 The denial of what was between them was super frustrating to read because it made both characters seem immature。The "forbidden" nature of the relationship wound up being pretty ridiculous。 They're grown adults， and Cole's a coach， not a player。 We didn't have to get to the end of the story to realize that they didn't have to hide their relationship in the first place。 I could've deduced that when we first met David。Regardless， they had some pretty significant chemistry， and the brothers-best-friend dynamic was well executed。3 ⭐️ 。。。more
